| Fall 2007 | MOMMAS House recently celebrated it's 25th Anniversary in August with a spectacular event! Many thanks to our committee of volunteers who made this event a tremendous success, raising over $120,000 in profits for MOMMAS House programs. Over 250 guests dined on the delicious the culinary creations of Chef Bryan Naylor of Birch Hill Market, we highly recommend them for fantastic catering! We danced and sang along to tunes played by the very talented Jim Roberti Band. Those in attendance were able to participate in raffles of over 50 prizes made up of items geneorusly donated by many local businesses. Mother of the Year Contest |
||||||
This year MOMMAS House embarked on a search for outstanding mothers who represent the characteristics of good mothering that we try to teach our young moms. We looked for mom's who set an example of the value, hardwork and talents of mother's in our community. We had a Mother of the Year contest and invited the public to nominate any outstanding mothers they knew. The judges had a very tough job in making their decision. In the end they picked a top three winners and two honorable mentions! Check out the WINNERS stories here The winning moms were given a small reception in their honor to celebrate, in addition to some great prizes, including: Jewelry (Including Tiffany's bracelet), Gift Certificates to Steve Madden, Hemingways, AMEX, A Charmed Life Boutique, Gift Baskets of beautiful household and personal items, including a vase, wallet, scarves, toiletries and more!! |

Capital Fund Campaign Update |
||||||
The current status of the Capital Fund Campaign is past the halfway mark! Most of the original pledges have been fulfilled. In order that we keep the project alive, we would be most grateful if a couple of you would consider hosting a reception at your home/business or anywhere feasible to accommodate an intimate gathering. Light refreshments only, as the main purpose is to have a platform on which to explain what MOMMAS House is and what it hopes to accomplish. No high pressure tactics are ever used, only the distribution of information and ways one might help if so inclined. Our goal is to purchase another multi-family home for our mothers who are ready for more independent living. Please consider investing in the future of MOMMAS House and the women and babies we serve. |
